On a development of this scale, planning applications are submitted on a regular basis either by Henley Camland or by the housing developers as they build their phases. Development of Phase 2 Ashmere (Western Village), Eastern Quarry, Ebbsfleet
Countryside Clarion (Eastern Quarry) LLP are developing the second phase of Ashmere (Western Village), located to the east of the B255, and adjacent to the first phase which has already been submitted to the Council.
You may be aware that the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation granted outline permission for up to 6,250 dwellings across Ashmere and Alkerden in March 2018. An Area Master Plan for both sites was approved in June 2019. As with the first phase of Ashmere, we have been working closely with the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation to progress the detailed proposals for Phase 2, and would like to obtain your input prior to the formal submission of the Reserved Matters later this year.
Phase 2 comprises of 226 residential dwellings, ranging from 1 bed apartments to larger 4 bedroom family houses. New homes offer a range of Affordable Rented, Shared Ownership and Private Sale dwellings. At the heart of the proposal is a new Neighbourhood Green.
Many of you will have received an invitation to view our proposals at a public exhibition planned for Thursday 19th March. In light of announcements from the Government concerning the outbreak of the Coronavirus, and in line with current Ebbsfleet Development Corporation advice, we took the decision to cancel our public consultation. The restoration and re-use of Alkerden Barn has been a key concern for residents so the planning consultation held in December 2019 was a good opportunity for people to view the plans. The consultation covered the emerging proposals for Alkerden Barn, the park, potential future uses and overall design.
Alkerden Village – Parcel 3
